In December 2012, a $6 million settlement was reached in a class-action lawsuit filed against Slide Inc., a subsidiary of Google, in 2011. The lawsuit alleged that Slide violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by sending unsolicited text messages to consumers from its Disco group texting service.
