July 2014: This action was voluntarily dismissed When a complaint is dismissed without prejudice, an amended version of the complaint can be refiled., the reasons for which have not been disclosed.
April 2014: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Maidenform and Wacoal for allegedly misleadingly marketing “shapewear” products made with Nurel’s Novarel Slim fabric. Specifically, the complaint alleges that the companies misleadingly represent that the “Anti-Cellulite iPant” and the “Instant Slimmer” shapewear destroy fat and reduce the appearance of cellulite when, according to plaintiffs, the fabric’s active ingredients do not permanently reduce cellulite or destroy fat. (Bellot et al v. Maidenform Brands, LLC, f/k/a Maidenform Brands, Inc. and Wacoal America, Inc., Case No. 14-cv-11834, D. MA.).
