October 2018: Plaintiffs moved for preliminary approval of a proposed settlement agreement. According to its terms, class members with proof of purchase may receive $6 for every product purchased and class members without proof of purchase may receive a $6 cash award for up to two products purchased. In addition, the company agreed not to label any products containing sulfates as “Sulfate Free” or “Free of Sulfates” and not to label any products containing salts as “Salt Free” or “Free of Salts.”
February 2017: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Sexy Hair Concepts for allegedly falsely marketing Healthy Sexy Hair Sulfate-Free Soy Moisturizing Shampoo as “sulfate-free” and free of salt when sodium sulfate and salt are listed as ingredients in small print on the back of the container.
