Court Cancels ‘Click-to-Cancel’ Rule
It won’t get any easier to cancel those annoying subscriptions.
A false advertising class-action lawsuit was filed against several owners and operators of California restaurants – including Cabo Cantina, The Sunset Trocadero Lounge, and Baja Beach Café – for allegedly failing to disclose on menus that customers are charged a service fee for each meal and drink purchased. The complaint was originally filed in June 2016, amended in July 2016, and transferred to federal court in August 2017. (Stern et al v. RMG Sunset, Inc., PB Cantina, LLC, Cabo Cantina L.A., LLC, and Cabo Cantina, LLC, Case No. 17-cv-1646, S. D. CA.)
