In February 2018, a class-action lawsuit was filed against American Halal Company for allegedly misleadingly focusing the marketing for Saffron Road Lentil Crackers on the lentils and lentil flour in them without adequately disclosing that the crackers also contain corn flour and pea flour. According to the complaint, the product packaging has the name “Lentil Crackers” in large, capital letters and other information about lentils – including their history and nutritional benefits – while the other flour ingredients are only mentioned in the list of ingredients.
