Ruffles Cheddar and Sour Cream Potato Chips

In March 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Frito-Lay for allegedly failing to disclose on the front label of Ruffles Cheddar and Sour Cream potato chips that they contain an artificial flavor that enhances one of the characterizing flavors in the chips, in violation of federal regulations. The complaint alleges that the front label of the chips must disclose that they are artificially flavored because the butter flavor in the chips enhances the characterizing flavor of cheddar cheese. (Ithier et al v. Frito-Lay North America, Inc., Case No. 20-cv-1810, S.D.N.Y.)
