Allegations: Falsely advertising that services provide internet
In May 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Charter Communications for allegedly deceptively advertising that the monthly rate for its cable television services will be fixed for a period of one or two years when, according to plaintiffs, the company increases the rates after customers sign up or renew their services. Plaintiffs also claim that Charter Communications makes it difficult for customers to cancel services. (Byrne et al v. Charter Communications, Inc. et al, Case No. 20-cv-712, D. Conn.)
