Court Cancels ‘Click-to-Cancel’ Rule
It won’t get any easier to cancel those annoying subscriptions.
In November 2017, a class-action lawsuit was filed alleging that Kanoa (a company that develops and sells technological hardware for devices) deceptively represented that customers who pre-ordered wireless earbuds would receive them in April 2016 when, according to the complaint, the company pushed the release date of the earbuds to summer 2017 and then announced that it ceased development of them. According to plaintiffs, those who pre-ordered the earbuds never received them and the company refuses to provide them with refunds. (Cruz et al v. Kanoa Inc. et al, Case No. 17-cv-1476, E. D. CA.)
