In August 2017, a class-action lawsuit was filed against PowerBlock, Inc. for allegedly misleadingly marketing PowerBlock Urethane Series Dumbbells by failing to inform consumers that the weights do not perform as advertised. The complaint alleges that the urethane coating on weight plates crack and break when exposed to warm conditions. (Cohen et al v. PowerBlock, Inc., Case No. 17-cv-23230, S. D. FL.)
