November 2018: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Walmart for allegedly deceptively inflating the milliampere-hours (mAh) ratings for its Onn brand Power Banks (portable power sources that can be used to charge electronic devices, such as phones, tablets, and laptops) when, according to the complaint, testing shows that the mAh rating – which represents the number of times a Power Bank can recharge a device before it needs to be recharged – is actually much lower than advertised. For example, plaintiffs claim that the store advertises that the mAh rating for one of its Power Banks is 2200 mAh when, according to plaintiffs, testing shows that the mAh rating for the Power Bank is actually 1916 mAh.
