O Organics Kombucha Beverages

In April 2019, a class-action lawsuit was filed against O Organics and Lucerne Foods for allegedly falsely marketing O Organics Kombucha beverages as non-alcoholic when, according to plaintiffs, the beverages contain three to five times more alcohol than non-alcoholic beverages are allowed to have. Plaintiffs also claim that the marketing for the Kombucha beverages understates the amount of sugar in them to make them appear healthier than they are. (Freedline et al v. O Organics LLC and Lucerne Foods, Inc., Case No. 19-cv-1945, N. D. CA.)
