December 2016: A federal judge granted final approval of the settlement.

August 2016: A federal judge preliminarily approved this settlement. A final fairness hearing is scheduled for December 7, 2016.

July 2016: After 15 similar class-action lawsuits against Nvidia Corp. were consolidated, the parties moved for preliminary approval of a settlement agreement. According to the proposed settlement terms, class members may receive a $30 cash refund for each unit purchased. (In Re Nvidia GTX 970 Graphics Chip Litigation, Case No. 15-cv-760, N. D. CA.)

2015: Between February and July 2015, at least seven class-action lawsuits were filed against Nvidia Corporation for allegedly falsely representing the specifications and capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 graphics processing units. Among other things, the complaints allege that the company misleadingly markets the graphics cards as providing 4 GB of VRAM and 64 ROPs when, in reality, they do not.
