In May 2018, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Netgear for allegedly falsely representing that its WiFi range extenders extend the range of wireless internet networks by close to 200 percent when, according to the plaintiffs, the products extend the range of networks by less than 50 percent. Two days after the complaint was filed, a federal judge dismissed the complaint When a complaint is dismissed without prejudice, an amended version of the complaint can be refiled. for lack of jurisdiction.
