May 2020: A class-action lawsuit was filed against S.C. Johnson & Son for allegedly misleadingly advertising Method household cleaning products – including the All-Purpose Cleaner, Squirt and Mop Floor Cleaner, and Granite Cleaner – as “non-toxic” when, according to the complaint, the products contain ingredients that are harmful to people, pets, and the environment. (Toth et al v. S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc. and Method Products, PBC, Case No. 20-cv-3553, N.D. Cal.)
