June 2014: The case was transferred to another California court (Case No. 14-cv-1358, S. D. CA.) and then consolidated with other similar cases, including Cortina v. Goya Foods, the lead case. (Case No. 14-cv-169, S. D. CA.)
March 2014: A class-action lawsuit was filed alleging that Goya Foods does not adequately warn consumers that the Malt Goya contains the potential carcinogenic chemical 4-MeI. (Perez et al v. Goya Foods, Inc. and Does 1-10, Case No. 14-cv-2001, C. D. CA.).
