Lamps Plus
In January 2019, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Lamps Plus for allegedly deceptively comparing the prices of its proprietary brands’ products to false higher reference prices of other retailers to make customers believe that the prices at Lamps Plus are cheaper than other retailers. Plaintiffs also claim that the brand names of Lamps Plus exclusive brands sound like they are independent, third-party brands to make customers think that the brands are sold at other retailers when they are not. Later in the month, the case was transferred from state court to federal court. (Chen et al v. Lamps Plus, Inc., Case No. 19-cv-119, W. D. WA.)
