In October 2017, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Krispy Kreme Doughnut for allegedly falsely representing the sugar content and number of calories in doughnuts. For example, the complaint claims that Krispy Kreme represents that one of its apple fritter doughnuts has 4g of sugar and 210 calories when, according to plaintiffs, an apple fritter doughnut has 26g of sugar and 350 calories. One day later, the named plaintiff voluntarily dismissed the case When a complaint is dismissed without prejudice, an amended version of the complaint can be refiled., the reasons for which have not been disclosed.
