In September 2019, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Mars Petcare for allegedly falsely advertising that IAMS Proactive Health Sensitive Skin & Stomach Grain-Free Recipe with Chicken & Peas dog foods do not contain grain or soy ingredients when, according to plaintiffs, independent testing shows that the dog foods contain both ingredients. (Fishon et al v. Mars Petcare US, Inc., Case No. 19-cv-816, M. D. TN.)
