Hyundai and Kia MPG Claims
In August 2014, a federal judge preliminarily approved a settlement of a false advertising class-action lawsuit against Kia Motors America and Hyundai Motor America for allegedly falsely advertising the expected gas mileage of their vehicles. According to the settlement terms, class members may:
- Participate in a program where vehicle owners are compensated for additional fuel costs (the amount of the reimbursement depends on several factors, including the vehicle model and the average gas price in their area),
- Receive a lump-sum payment,
- Receive a dealer service debit card, or
- Receive a new car rebate certificate.
