In March 2014, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Hulu LLC for, among other things, allegedly failing to adequately disclose that customers who upgraded their free Hulu accounts to Hulu Plus would be charged for automatic renewals, in violation of California law. (Kruger et al v. Hulu LLC, Case No. BC540053, Superior Court of the State of California, County of Los Angeles).
