In August 2013, consumers filed a class-action lawsuit against Helzberg Diamond Shops Inc. claiming that the company “materially misrepresented” the total weight of the diamonds in its engagement rings. Specifically, plaintiffs claim the total weight of the diamonds in the engagement rings was less than advertised. (Caprarola v.
