These Super Bowl LVIII Advertisers Have Been Taken to Court for Deceptive Marketing
Several of this year’s Super Bowl advertisers have run into legal trouble for alleged deceptive marketing.
February 2020: This case was transferred from state court to federal court. (Case No. 20-cv-27, E.D. Ky.)
January 2020: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Gerber Life Insurance Company for allegedly deceptively marketing its “Grow-Up Plan” and “College Plan” as affordable ways for parents and grandparents to save money for children when, according to plaintiffs, these plans are actually life insurance policies and consumers who get them actually lose money. (Prewitt et al v. Gerber Life Insurance Company, Case No. 20-CI-00011, Kentucky State Court – Laurel County)
