In March 2014, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Fitbit, Inc. for allegedly falsely advertising the Fitbit Force, a device that measures and records activities such as the number of steps walked and quality of sleep. The complaint alleges that the company represents that the product is safe without adequately warning consumers of potential health consequences, including the risk of skin irritation, rashes, and burns.
