In March 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against First Bank Puerto Rico for allegedly failing to adequately inform customers that they will be charged two, and sometimes three, separate fees if they use out-of-network ATMs to withdraw cash from their accounts. (Rivera et al v. First Bank Puerto Rico, Case No. 20-cv-1122, D.P.R.)
