In November 2016, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Electricity Maine (an electricity supplier) for allegedly deceptively offering customers low introductory rates and savings on electricity bills when, in reality, the company automatically enrolls them at significantly higher long-term rates after the introductory rates expire.
