Allegations: Falsely marketing that the nuts get their flavor from being smoked when the flavor actually comes from an added ingredient
In August 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Family Dollar Stores for allegedly misleadingly advertising that the flavor in Eatz Smoked Almonds comes from being smoked when, according to plaintiffs, the ingredients list reveals that the flavor comes from an added ingredient (specifically, Natural Smoke Flavor). (Bynum et al v. Family Dollar Stores, Inc., Case No. 20-cv-6878, S.D.N.Y.)
