Allegations: Misleadingly marketing products as healthy
In October 2016, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Dole Packaged Foods for, among other things, allegedly deceptively marketing various fruit-based snack foods – including Dole Fruit & Oatmeal and Dole Parfait – as healthy when they actually contain substantial amounts of added sugar. (Amaya et al v. Dole Packaged Foods, LLC, Case No. 16-cv-7734, C. D. CA.)
