October 2016: A Consolidated Class Action Complaint making similar allegations (i.e., the store misleadingly offers discounts off of false “original” prices) was filed.

December 2015: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s for allegedly misrepresenting the nature and amount of discounts. Specifically, the complaint alleges that the stores misleadingly compared “artificially inflated” prices to discounted sales prices in order to make consumers believe they are getting a more significant discount than they actually are. (Haley et al v. Macy’s, Inc. and Bloomingdale’s, Inc., Case No. 15-cv-6033, N. D. CA.)
