In April 2019, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Ralph Lauren for allegedly deceptively advertising discounts on merchandise sold at its factory stores in New Jersey by comparing a discounted price to an inflated reference price to make consumers believe they are “getting a deal.” (Tripicchio et al v. Ralph Lauren Corp. and Ralph Lauren Retail, Inc., Case No. 19-cv-3292, S.D.N.Y.)
