May 2016: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Utz Quality Foods, Inc. for allegedly falsely labeling varieties of Dirty Potato Chips – including Mesquite BBQ, Jalapeno Heat, Sour Cream and Onion, Sea Salt and Vinegar, Cracked Pepper and Sea Salt, Maui Onion, Funky Fusion, Pesto & Parmesan, and Smokey Chipotle – as “All Natural” and containing “No Preservatives” when they actually contain non-natural, artificial, synthetic ingredients and preservatives. (Hashtpari et al v. Utz Quality Foods, Inc., Case No. 16-cv-3453, C. D. CA.)
