March 2015: The named plaintiff voluntarily dismissed this lawsuit. The reasons for the dismissal have not yet been disclosed.

February 2015: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Chiquita Brands, Inc. for allegedly deceptively marketing Chiquita bananas. According to the plaintiffs, the company places a blue sticker on bananas to represent, among other things, that they have been produced in a way to “conserve wildlife habitats, national resources and promote community well being” when, in reality, some of Chiquita’s bananas are produced in a way that destroys natural ecosystems, contaminates the drinking water of local communities, and poisons local residents. (Jablonowski et al Chiquita Brands, Inc., Case No. 15-cv-262, S. D. CA.).
