May 2014: A class-action lawsuit was filed against T. Marzetti Company for allegedly misleadingly marketing its Chatham Village Croutons – including the Garden Herb, Caesar Style, Garlic & Butter Flavored, and Sea Salt & Pepper varieties – as “all natural” when they actually contain unnatural, synthetic, artificial, and genetically modified ingredients. (Dunnington et al v. T. Marzetti Company, Case No. 14-cv-80626, S. D. FL.).
