March/April 2018: A false advertising class-action lawsuit was filed against Small Planet Foods and General Mills in state court in March 2018 and transferred to federal court in April 2018. Specifically, plaintiffs claim that the company falsely markets Cascadian Farm frozen fruits and vegetables as being grown on an organic farm in Washington state when, according to the complaint, the fruits and vegetables are imported from other countries – including Mexico and Chile – and the company fails to adequately disclose where they are from.
