March 2016: A federal judge did not certify the class finding that the named plaintiff did not present an appropriate method to measure damages and did not demonstrate standing to seek injunctive relief.

September 2015: A false advertising class-action lawsuit was filed against Bigelow Tea for allegedly making unlawful health, nutrient content, and antioxidant claims. The lawsuit, which was originally filed in 2012, alleges that its green teas are labeled as containing “Healthy Antioxidants” and having “packed powerful antioxidants into green tea” without meeting California and federal requirements to make such claims. (Khasin et al v. R. C. Bigelow, Inc., Case No. 12-cv-2204, N. D. CA.)
