February 2019: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Big Fish Games for allegedly offering slot machines and casino games that are free to download and providing first-time visitors with free “chips” to use to play the games when, according to the complaint, consumers need to purchase chips to continue playing the games after they use all of the free chips. Plaintiffs also claim that the company violates Washington state law by operating illegal gambling games. (Thimmegowda et al v. Big Fish Games, Inc. et al, Case No. 19-cv-199, W.D. Wash.)
