September 2019: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Benihana, Inc. – a company that owns restaurants, including Benihana Teppanyaki, Haru, and RA Sushi, that offer Japanese cuisine – for allegedly falsely representing that menu items contain crab when, according to the plaintiffs, the food items do not contain crab meat and are made with imitation crab instead. (Kim et al v. Benihana, Inc., Case No. CIV-DS-1928928, California State Court – San Bernardino)
