March 2020: This parties notified the court that they reached a settlement agreement, the terms of which were not disclosed.
August 2019: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Aldi grocery store for allegedly misleadingly advertising Sundae Shoppe and Belmont Ice Creams as being Vanilla Light Ice Creams when, according to plaintiffs, the ingredients list on the ice creams reveals that vanilla is not the sole characterizing flavor in them. The complaint also claims that the products contain annatto – a coloring ingredient used in cheddar cheese – to make the ice cream look more like the flavor comes from vanilla. (Weber-Lugo et al v. Aldi Inc., Case No. 19-cv-4861, E.D.N.Y.)
