September 2020: The case was dismissed after the Court granted a motion to compel arbitration.
July 2020: This case was transferred to federal court. (Case No. 20-cv-1456, S.D. Cal.)
June 2020: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Ancestry.com alleging that it misleadingly offers a free trial to access genealogical records without adequately disclosing that consumers who sign up for the free trial will be automatically enrolled in a monthly subscription resulting in consumers being charged without their consent. (Chapple et al v. Ancestry.com Operations Inc., Case No. 37-2020-00021807, California State Court – San Diego)
