September 2014: A false advertising class-action lawsuit filed against Amy’s Kitchen was transferred from the Northern District of Illinois to Northern District of California. The complaint, which was originally filed in Illinois state court in 2013, alleges that the company mislabels products – including its Asian Noodle Stir-Fry, Roasted Vegetable Lasagna, and Baked Ziti Bowl – as containing “evaporated cane juice” when, according to plaintiffs, they contain sugar. (Gilbert et al v. Amy’s Kitchen, Inc., Case No. 14-cv-04380, N.D. Cal.).
