June 2020: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Matherson Organics for allegedly deceptively advertising that Active Wow Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powders safely provide various oral health benefits – including whitening teeth, detoxifying the mouth, eliminating bad breath, and removing stains – when, according to plaintiffs, the company does not have scientific evidence to support such claims. (Schnurer et al v. Matherson Organics, LLC, Case No. 20-cv-1223, S.D. Cal.)
