TINA.org’s investigation cataloged a sampling of over 100 DealDash advertisements, including television commercials, online ads, and social media posts (published by DealDash between 2016 and 2017), each one containing one or more of the following deceptive advertising issue:

  • advertising savings on auction items won without adequately disclosing the true out-of-pocket cost for obtaining the products;
  • using consumer testimonials touting atypical savings on products won without clearly and conspicuously disclosing that DealDash customers typically lose money on the auction (*within the sampling of 103 ads below, there are 161 atypical results); and/or
  • promoting a 100% money-back guarantee refund policy without adequately disclosing the significant restrictions of the policy.
