September/October 2016: A federal judge granted final approval of a settlement agreement reached between the parties. According to the settlement terms, Babo Botanicals agreed to stop marketing and labeling products containing synthetic ingredients and preservatives as natural. The settlement does not provide class members with any monetary relief.
January 2016: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Babo Botanicals for allegedly falsely marketing products – including Babo Botanicals Calming Baby Lotion, Babo Botanicals 3-in-1 Calming Shampoo, and Babo Botanicals Moisturizing Baby Bubble Bath and Wash – as natural when they actually contain artificial and synthetic ingredients. (Nicotra et al v. Babo Botanicals, LLC, Case No. 16-cv-296, E. D. NY.)
