In March 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against McDonald’s for allegedly misleadingly marketing that vanilla is the characterizing flavoring ingredient in vanilla soft serve ice creams when, according to plaintiffs, the ingredients list for the ice cream reveals that it is flavored with unspecified “Natural Flavor” instead of vanilla.
