Vanilla Chai Tea Latte from Oregon Chai
In November 2019, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Oregon Chai alleging that its vanilla chai tea latte contains less vanilla than represented on the product packaging. Specifically, plaintiffs claim that the front label misleadingly represents that vanilla is the exclusive flavoring ingredient in the teas when, according to the complaint, the ingredients list does not include vanilla and shows that the teas contain unspecified “natural flavors.” (Cosgrove et al v. Oregon Chai, Inc., Case No. 19-cv-10686, S. D. NY.)
