Allegations: Misrepresenting when customers will be charged overdraft fees
In September 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Trustco Bank for allegedly falsely representing that the bank does not charge overdraft fees if there is enough money in an account to cover a transaction when, according to plaintiffs, the bank charges overdraft fees on certain transactions even when an account has enough funds to cover them. (Livingston et al v. Trustco Bank, Case No. 20-cv-1030, N.D.N.Y.)
