Trump University
In October 2014, a federal judge granted the plaintiff’s motion to certify a class in a false advertising lawsuit against Donald Trump. The complaint, which was originally filed in 2013, alleges that the advertising for “Trump University” misleadingly:
- Represented that Donald Trump and professors picked by him were going to teach students Donald Trump’s real estate secrets when, in fact, The Donald did not teach students his real estate secrets, pick professors, or contribute to the curriculum in a meaningful way, and
- Used the title “University” when it actually did not have a license from the New York State Education Department.
