Symantec’s Norton Software with its AntiVirus Decomposer Engine

In April 2018, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Symantec Corp. for allegedly marketing its Norton-brand network security software as the best security solutions available on the market without disclosing that software with its antivirus decomposer engine suffers from a defect that exposes the entire computer operating system to security vulnerabilities. (Beyer et al v. Symantec Corp., Case No. 18-cv-2006, N.D. Cal.)
