August 2019: This case was transferred to federal court. (Case No. 19-cv-1643, S.D. Cal.)

July 2019: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Trusted Media Brands for allegedly failing to adequately disclose to consumers that subscriptions to its magazines – including Reader’s Digest – will be automatically renewed resulting in consumers being charged for subscriptions without their consent, in violation of California state law. (Tovey et al v. Trusted Media Brands, Inc., Case No. 37-2019-00038992, California State Court – San Diego)
