May 2014: A class-action lawsuit was filed against iS3, Inc. for allegedly deceptively marketing the STOPzilla software, including STOPzilla AntiVirus and STOPzilla AntiMalware. Among other things, plaintiffs claim that the company uses the “free” trial version to induce consumers to purchase the full version because the trial version is programmed to always find threats and report that the consumer needs to purchase the full version to fix the problems.
