In September 2017, a false advertising class-action lawsuit was filed against SolarCity. The complaint alleges that the company deceptively promises consumers who install solar panels will save on their energy bills when, according to plaintiffs, they do not save on their energy bills. SolarCity Corporation, Case No. 17-cv-6511, C. D. CA.)
